Maureen Ross O’Connell- Parents Who Text While Driving

Posted by on May 25, 2012 in

If you did not see the editorial in the Springfield Republican on Thursday, May 24th about parents texting and driving, take a minute and read it.  This topic is so important that we feel a need to highlight it again.  The opening statement in the article speaks volumes.  If we as a society don’t see the dangers and change our behavior, we will have an epidemic as deadly as drinking and driving.  If you text and drive as a parent, you can rest assured your children will do the same when they get their licence  – PERIOD.   A friend of mine told me that she changed her behavior by putting her phone in the backseat while she drives.  Whatever it takes to change the behavior – JUST DO IT – and do it now before it’s too late.

Maureen is a partner at Ross Insurance and has been associated with the agency since 1978.  She is the mother of two girls and grandmother to one grandson, Lucas. She is an active Rotarian and in her free time she loves to golf.
