Simple and Tasty Guacamole

Avocados are among some of the healthiest fruits, packed with Omega 3s (aka good fats), potassium and B vitamins. You might ask “what are ‘good’ fats?” Dr. Hyman is the founder and medical director of The UltraWellness Center in Massachusetts, and describes it well here.

One of the tastiest ways to get avocados into your diet is by eating guacamole. This recipe is very easy and only has a few ingredients.

Ingredients:

-2 Avocados

-1 Lemon

-3/4 Cup Fresh Salsa (found in the product section or make your own)

-Sea Salt

Directions:

1. Cut avocado in half, lengthwise. Scoop out the inside with a spoon. Discard pit.

2. Mash up the avocado meat with a fork, until smooth. (note: if doing large quantities, a potato masher or beaters work well).

3. Add salsa. Stir well.

4. Cut lemon in half and squeeze juice into mixture. Stir well.

5. Salt to taste. Serve immediately with tortilla chips.

Avocados/guacamole will turn brown if exposed to oxygen for a prolonged amount of time. If you need to store your guacamole in the fridge, line the top of the dip with saran wrap, working any air bubbles out. Then add the top to container.
