True Confessions of a Mom: Can You Hand Me My Phone?

“Can you hand me my phone?” Not an uncommon phrase in our household.  Everyone seems to have some sort of hand held electronics on their person or within arm’s reach at all times.   It seems even when we don’t, the pull of the phone can be addicting.  Many times at dinner (where there is a no phone rule) I will hear my text tone chime or the phone ring.  You would think I would ignore it, but it is too tempting.  I need to know immediately who it was, what they need and...

True Confessions of a Mom: Why You Might Have Hospice Care All Wrong.   Hi! Yes, You! The one who clicked this link out of curiosity about Hospice!  Can I ask you a question? You Want Me To Kick You Where??

You have been Christmas shopping and are carrying all of your bags out to the car for safe keeping.  Your hands are full and you are struggling to find your keys in your purse. You are walking down the street alone, reading some emails in your phone.  You don’t notice much around you as you are too busy looking at your phone. A late dinner is done at the campus Dining Hall and you are walking back to your dorm alone.  You are tired, and can’t wait to get...
